Printful is here: sell your own designs with no stock to hold

Printful print-on-demand t-shirt, hoodie and mug in a Freewebstore store, with an order waiting to be confirmed

You can now connect Printful to your Freewebstore store. Put your own designs on t-shirts, hoodies, mugs and more, and sell them without buying a single item up front. When a customer orders, Printful prints it and ships it straight to them.

Printful is live today and free to add on every paid plan: Startup, Pro and Ridge.

Why this matters

Selling your own merch used to mean a gamble. Order a box of t-shirts, guess which sizes and colours will sell, pay for the lot, then hope. Get it wrong and the money sits in a cupboard.

Print on demand turns that around. Nothing is made until a customer has paid for it, so you can try a new design, offer every size and colour, and never sit on stock that doesn’t sell.

What you get

  • No stock to hold: Printful prints each item when it’s ordered and ships it to your customer.
  • Products in a few clicks: tick your Printful products, choose a category and click Add to my store. Each one arrives with its sizes, colours, prices and photos, as a normal product you can edit.
  • Orders sent for you: a paid order with Printful products goes to Printful automatically. No copying addresses.
  • You confirm first: by default, nothing is printed or charged until you confirm the order. We email you when one is waiting.
  • Tracking and dispatch: when Printful ships, the tracking number goes on the order and your customer gets your dispatch email.

What it costs

Printful bills you directly for each item it prints, its shipping and any tax it applies. We add no fee and no markup to what Printful charges you. You choose the price your customers pay.

How to set it up

  1. In your control panel, go to App Center > Printful and click Enable App.
  2. In your Printful account, open your Manual order / API store’s API settings and create a private token. Allow orders, sync products and webhooks.
  3. Paste the token on the Printful app page in your control panel and click Connect.
  4. Tick the products you want, choose a category (or let us create a new “Printful products” category) and click Add to my store.

Don’t have a Printful account yet? Create one free, design your first product in a Manual order / API store, then follow the steps above.

If you create your Printful account through our link, Printful may pay Freewebstore a referral fee.

Good to know

  • Already on Printful with Shopify, Etsy or Wix? Copy those products into your Manual order / API store in Printful first. Printful doesn’t let us read products designed in a store linked to another platform.
  • Set postage that covers Printful’s shipping. Printful charges you for shipping on top of the items, while your customers pay your store’s own postage. The order note shows what Printful charged.
  • Check weights if you price postage by weight. Printful doesn’t share product weights, so we estimate a typical one. You can change it in the product editor.
  • Reviewing orders is on by default. Confirm each order on the order page, on the Printful app page or in Printful. You can switch review off to send orders straight away, but checking first gives you a chance to spot a fraudulent order before you pay for it.
  • Mixed orders work too. If an order has Printful items and items you send yourself, it gets Printful’s tracking number and a note, and you dispatch your own items as usual.
  • Cancelling: cancel or delete the order before Printful starts making it and the Printful order is cancelled too. After that, contact Printful.
  • Already made the product? Link it instead: open the product editor, go to the Advanced tab and use the Printful panel, variant by variant.
