We launched the Startup plan in 2020 at £15 / €15 / $20 a month. Since then, your stores have been busy, and so have we. We’ve rebuilt most of Freewebstore, from the designs your customers see to the way you get paid. Through all of it, and through our price review in February 2025, the Startup price has never changed.
Here’s what Startup includes today, and a small change to its price.
Six years of Startup
A whole new look
- EPIC designs. A new design suite built from sections and blocks you edit right on the page, with light and dark styles. Every store can switch to it for free.
- Brand Kit. Set your logo, colours, fonts and tone of voice once, and your store is built in your brand’s style.
- Shopper filters. Customers can narrow your products by price, brand, category, stock and more.
- Custom CSS for when you want to fine-tune your design, and SVG logos that stay sharp on every screen.
A safer store
- Cloudflare DDoS protection for every store. Since 2026, every Freewebstore store sits behind Cloudflare, which blocks DDoS and other attacks before they reach your store, so you stay open for your shoppers.
- Two-step sign-in to keep your control panel safe, with a new, stronger system since December 2025.
More ways to get paid
- Ryft card payments for UK, European and US stores, with an all-in rate of 2% + 5p on standard cards on Startup.
- Stripe payments, including Klarna, iDEAL and other local payment methods, plus PayPal Pay Later for UK, US and French stores.
- Payment Requests. Email a customer a secure link to pay by card, through Ryft or Stripe.
- Longer billing terms. 2-year and 3-year Startup plans, for the biggest saving on your subscription.
More reasons to come back, and more to sell
- Loyalty points. Reward customers with points when they buy, write a review or join your newsletter, and let them spend those points on money off or free delivery.
- Digital downloads. Sell PDFs, ebooks, music, patterns and artwork, with 2 GB of file storage on Startup. Customers get a secure download link as soon as they’ve paid.
- Gift cards, now with new designs, and tipping at checkout.
- Promotions. Automatic offers that apply at checkout, no discount code needed.
- Reviews with photos, and automatic review invites after every order.
- Facebook Shop, plus product feeds for Pinterest and TikTok.
AI that does the work
- Store Assistant. Ask questions or get things set up in your control panel, in plain English.
- AI business reports on your traffic, sales, products and overall store health, with suggested next steps.
- Write SEO with AI. Search-engine titles and descriptions for up to 1,000 products at once, in your store’s own style.
- Smart Import. Bring products in from almost any file, or straight from Shopify, Wix, WooCommerce, Etsy or Squarespace. You review everything before it’s imported.
Less admin
- Royal Mail prices in one click for UK stores, plus Royal Mail Click & Drop.
- Postcode and zip code shipping rules, so you can charge the right delivery price for every area.
- Warehouse pick lists to make packing orders quicker.
- Automatic redirects. Change the web address of a product, category or page and the old one keeps working.
- Store API with 25,000 requests a day on Startup, product webhooks, and a hosted connection so AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT can help manage your store.

A change to the Startup price
To keep investing in all of this, we’re making the first change to the Startup price since we launched it. Startup will be £18 / €18 / $24 a month, excluding VAT: for new customers from 2 November 2026, and for existing customers from their first renewal on or after 1 December 2026. The Community, Pro and Ridge plans are not changing.
Every billing term changes by the same 20%, so the longer you pay for, the more you still save.

What this means for you
There’s nothing you need to do. Your plan carries on as usual, with everything above included.
- New to Startup? Anyone who upgrades from 2 November pays the new price from the start.
- Already on Startup? Nothing changes before 1 December. Any time you’ve already paid for stays at your current price.
- Monthly plans: the new price applies from your first renewal on or after 1 December.
- Annual and longer plans: the new price applies at your next renewal on or after 1 December.
- Joined recently? If you upgraded to Startup between 2 September and 1 November 2026, your current price stays for 90 days from your upgrade date. We’ll email you the exact date.
- We’re emailing every Startup customer at least 30 days before their price changes, with their own date.
If Startup is no longer right for you, you can change plan or cancel from your control panel at any time before your renewal, and you won’t pay the new price. Our free Community plan is always there too.
