    I would love my customers to have an language option. I have customers from Poland and Netherlands and I wish they could see my website in their own language.

      I would love my customers to be able to add more than 1 item of stock the their casket at a time, they buy say 5 at a time and have to wait to get to cart to increase quantity on ebay you select how many to buy and then add to basket

      With my store it would be quite easy much like a discount code the more they shop with you(me) the higher the discount type thing,which can still be used with other discount codes. So reward returning sales & keep them coming back for more, should be quite easy to integrate in theory I.E: return customer 2nd sale = 2% off , Return customer 3rd sale 5% , Return customer 4th sale =10% off.
      Or give it a monetary value in store I.E 2nd sale = £2 off 3rd sale £5 & so on.
      Or my personal choice would be make it so for each sale they get a certain amount of points E.G: a £10 sale = 10 points,a £100 pound sale = 150 points and reward them the more they spend then have a feature where we can add a reward value to our goods E.G: a cd worth £10 also cost 500points that’s 3 ways i can see this being integrated Stephen. & think it would make for return custom in a lot of stores not just my own.

    How about a adding a feature so we can add an easily indexible blog to our page to help with SEO to. It’s hard to make a presentable Blog using the pages.

    I would like to be able to offer my customers a coupon for discounts off certain products (instead of a coupon that can only be used store wide)…..also a coupon for freight savings would be good.

        I would love to be able to offer a free postage coupon since marketing data suggests a buyer is more likely to complete postage if they are receiving free postage through a discount code.

    I have put in numerous requests for a facility within Orders to enable the editing of customer orders. For example, a customer orders a few different products, then, after making the order, sends a message that he/she would like to omit or change a product, or perhaps the business owner offers a different product in replacement.

    A loyalty scheme is another I have asked for and see other people above have too. The oscommerce website I had previously had a system that allowed the owner to set a figure say 50p for every £10 spent per order, which was then redeemable at anytime by the customer logging in and using some or all available loyalty amount on his/her next order (which could have a minimum order value of ‘X’ )

    YES! I agree with Ryven, I would like to be able to apply a coupon to specific products or categories. I have been asking you to implement this for nearly a year.and you keep telling me you’re working on it but all we ever get are colourful new designs.

    I need an option to enable everyone in the world to pay the same gross price.
    meaning countries who dont have to pay VAT still pay the final price that includes vat, but the ‘Vat element’ of the order does not show on the invoice as VAt and this extra can then be used as profit.
    So, based on the customers country, they system generates an invoice with VAT for EU customers but then for ROW customers it shows no VAT but the same final price.
    This way ALL customers pay the same final price but we make more profit on ROW sales as we would get to keep what they would pay if they were charged VAT.

    I actually feel so proud to have witnessed what this service has developed into, well done on all the work!
    I was actually thinking about the cart thing only the other day so i thought i’d put forward a few of my other preferences
    first of all, perhaps like e-mails you can design and send to your customers or subscribers? i.e newsletters

    Any chance that people can pay straight by their card? I’m not sure quite how it works, i prefer good old paypal, but for some odd reason some people don’t seem to have it!

    that’s all i can remember at the moment, thanks for the service, i cannot wait for the ‘abandoned cart’ to be up and running (fingers crossed) eeeeeeeeeeek!

      Hi Shab,

      Thanks for your kind words and for your suggestions.

      We do not currently provide our own email marketing system but I recommend you take a look at a company called MailChimp:

      MailChimp.com

      We use MailChimp for our own newsletter and they provide an excellent service. If you were to sign up for an account with them, you would receive a section of HTML code that, when added to your store, would generate the Sign Up form that allows your customers to opt in to your newsletter. To add this code to your store, I recommend you use the Design > Customise Design > Banners section, or perhaps edit a page in the Manage > Pages section, then click the “HTML” button at the bottom-left of the Text Editor. You would then be able to paste the MailChimp code directly into there, save the changes, and the form should appear on your store.

      In regards to your customers paying directly with a card. Have you checked our our other payment providers via the Ecommerce > Checkouts section of your control panel. The majority of these payment providers will allow your customers to pay directly with their card.

    I would like my customers have the oportunity to select by quick filters the size or the colour of the shoes/clothes that are available in my e-shop. Also a quick filter of prices ex. 15euros to 30euros, it would be very nice. These two filters are the most important for me and, if you will manage to create it you will be far away of the other freewebstore competitors.

    I would like to be able to amend the Invoices manually.
    I need often to amend the invoice for various reasons right now my only option is to delete the present invoice and create a new one, my accountant does not like this practice.

      Hi John, Thanks for your suggestion. You can open all your invoices up in Word which then allows you to edit them. If you are unsure of how to do this please feel free to contact the support team who will be happy to help.

    I would love to see an app for iphone and android. I spend quite a lot of time out of the office and it would be really helpful to be able to quickly view messages, orders etc without having to log into the main website on my phone. It would nice to get a ‘ping’ notification to let me know when a new order has been placed.

    I think i’m just stupid, but if when orders came through, there were some pictures, or indications of what they bought (when we are sent that e-mail stating a sale has been made) it would be useful.. i have sent out the wrong item TWICE *sigh*.. just me?!

    and production option images, personally i think you should spoil us and just do it all.. asap. 😦

    More flexibility in the Postage settings. For example the ability to have a different rules for different products for different destinations Eg. a product that is bulky but lightweight suits the quantity method (as postage sometimes has a size limit as well as a weight limit therefore the size may limit the quantity included to 3 products whereas the weight limit might allow 10 products – which would push it to a different price bracket as it wouldn’t fit in the parcel or bag). A product that is both bulky and heavy suits the weight method. Some products may be able to have fixed price postage for delivery within your own country but then a requirement to apply the international postage rule for overseas delivery.

    I have mentioned to your developers before, but I would like to see a number of enhancements to the checkout forms facility – or the facility for customers to add a note to each product.
    I use the checkout forms for adding personalisation options to our products, however this is only available once per product, but if more than one quantity of the same product is added, there is only one instance of the form.
    Also, the details of the checkout form are not available to add to the invoice, so the customer cannot see the details that have come through to us.
    Please contact me if you would like further examples of what I’m talking about!

    Another feature would be the ability for the customer to upload files to us, as we offer the facility to personalise their gifts with their own images. Currently we have to do this separately via a series of emails.

    I am always impressed with the service from Freewebstore and look forward to future enhancements.

      This can already be done in the postage rules. we have ours set to spend £60 or more INC VAT and get free shipping (we sell electronics)

    The Invoice is the first thing that the customer receives from me. I would like more flexibility in what is on it + as another person says it would be useful for them to be easier to edit to incorporate a small change. Also, if a customer chooses the bank Transfer checkout I would like my Bank details displayed (but not otherwise)

      Hi Martin, as mentioned above, you can export your Invoice to a word document which you can then edit. In regards to Bank Transfers, your customers will only see your bank details if they select the bank transfer payment method. You set the instructions and bank details within the Ecommerce > Checkouts section of the Freewebstore Control Panel. If you are unsure how to do this please feel free to send a support ticket in to our support team who will be happy to help.

    I would like to be able to place phone orders through my website. It will keep all of my customers order information in one place and help me keep track of inventory instead of having to input data into a second program and balance them at the end of the month. Plus it will add to consistency of the look of invoices and emails.

    Is it possible to integrate with collect plus ? and ebay ? i have also started using the facebook app but dont appreciate you writing freewebstore all over it considering i pay for that to be removed each month ?

    Also is it possible to print all outstanding invoices i.e to send in the post with one click ?

      Have to agree with this! It should not show that for something we pay to have removed same with Twitter. Fair enough for the free store but paying customers pay to remove this information.

      In regards to the Facebook App. We decided to offer the app for free rather than charge an additional amount each month, but include minimum Freewebstore branding. Would your preference be to pay an additional amount each month without the branding ?

    HI There,

    I would also like a loyalty scheme as suggested by ‘Vaper Train’…

    I would also like a more mobile compatible site and an app option. Most of my search engine hits come from Mobiles as do most people nowadays I would imagine… I believe this is imperative in order to stay up-to-date with shoppers habits…

    Lastly, I would like to be able offer specific discount codes to certain items within my store. To elaborate on this…

    For instance: I would like to offer 25% off over a weekend on one particular ‘brand’ within my store. Currently, I am only able to offer 25% off over the whole store. This does not work for me at all. It is great to have so much more flexibility in this respect, as some items are better sellers than other.

    I have also found that items which have already been discounted within my store can also been discounted further if a discount code is applied to it… This is not good at all, and it would be great to have an option to click that allows you to ‘does not apply to any special offer items or percentage off items within store’… If you get my drift?

        If you click the “View Results” button you will see that the top two requests are in fact “More Store Designs” and “Abandoned Cart Data” . The purpose of the poll was to help us prioritize which feature to release first.

        Our development team are so fantastic that they are also nearing completion on the product specific coupon codes feature and looking at a loyalty scheme.

        The comments on this blog post have been invaluable to us in mapping out our development roadmap so that can continue to give our customers what they want.

    I’m not viewing your poll or voting because you’ve developed the features you feel like and presented them to customers instead of listening to our feedback and giving us the ones we actually want – ie. A CUSTOMER LOYALTY SCHEME AND COUPONS THAT APPLY TO CERTAIN PRODUCTS/CATEGORIES. From the other people’s comments I can see I’m not the only person who has been asking for these features but all I ever get are promises that they’re “coming soon”. How long is soon?

    It would also be great if you could add different weights for different sizes of the same product instead of having to create separate products for different sizes. I’m sure the current method is fine for Freewebstore because I had to list the same product 3 times for 3 different sizes which forced me to pay to upgrade my store to the next level because I exceeded the number of products. A 100ml size doesn’t weigh the same as a 500ml or 2 litre and the bigger sizes cost extra to post so you need to set different weights for them but (as far as I’m aware) Freewebstore can only set one weight per product.

    Another suggestion: The number of products available in each Freewebstore band (eg. 15 Free, 50 in Amateur, 150 in Standard) should be the number of ACTIVE products and the total should not include any hidden products. Again, I had to pay to upgrade to the next level because I had some products that weren’t available but I didn’t want to have to delete the product entirely before I could list more. Sometimes I like to create the product page in advance and keep it hidden so it can quickly be made active when my stock arrives but these hidden products count towards the total.

    I would love to have more options in the designs – we don’t all know code and if I could also afford to pay someone to design the site for me I probably wouldn’t be here. Just things like having an option to remove, say, popular products or to place that elsewhere in the margins.

    Then the ability to be able to play around with a new design without it going live would be great, and to have all preferences move over when switching. I have tried switching design to see what if it might suit us better and everything gets thrown out, with the added negative that it’s live, so I have to do it late at night and can’t leave it and come back to it later.

    I’m puzzled why you have chosen to reinvent the wheel with a new GROUPS feature when we already have CATEGORIES to group our products into. Why can’t the ability to apply a discount be applied to the existing CATEGORIES instead of making work forcing us to create unnecessary groups? Have you got any idea how long it would take to put 160 products into groups? What a pointless exercise when they are already grouped in categories.

      It only takes a few seconds to put your categories into groups. Simply set a filter on your product list via the Manage > Products screen and choose to filter your products by a category. Then press the “Save as Group” button which will put them into a group for you.

      We have added the group option as they are more flexible than categories. You may want to create a group from many categories to apply a discount for instance.

      It also allows us to add exciting new features such as product specific coupons which I know you have been looking forward to (We might get a Christmas card from you after all this year)

    Are you likely to be adding the option to update stock for all product options anytime soon via a spreadsheet upload? Currently this is only available for the basic product, but not for product options, e.g. for an LED light bulb with various cap types which all have different stock quantities. As all of our products have options, the only way we can update stock is manually which is very time consuming. It would be really helpful if you could add this feature, I’m sure other users would find this useful too.

      4 years ago I joined freewebstore and I had a problem then, I still have the same problem today. I can not edit the invoices, I want to be able to add items delete items, change the customers address if needed.

        I am talking about editing the original online invoice not a copy offline. At the moment I have to run two systems stock control and two invoice, one for the online business and one for the off line business. Why you just do not add a feature to edit the dam invoices I do not know. 4 years ago I was promissed this as a feature but it has never arrived. What is the point of having one copy of a numbered invoice on line saying something completly different to the same numbered invoice off line !!!! You obviously have never run a business r you would know the taxmans views on that!!!

        A loyalty scheme would HAVE to be registered customers anyway because without registering they wouldn’t have an account to accrue the points on.
        I don’t think you should be allowed to edit the invoices because there is the possibility to change what your customer ordered.

        WE WANT A LOYALTY SCHEME FREEWEBSTORE, IT HAS BEEN THE MOST POPULAR SUGGESTION AND WILL ATTRACT NEW BUSINESS TO YOUR STORE AND OURS.

        If your store is set up correctly there should never be any reason to “fudge” your invoices. In four years you have never successfully explained why this “fudging” is required. Please feel free to send a support ticket if you require help setting your store up correctly.

        As I said you have obviously never run a business!!! why would I want to edit an invoice?,, To add an item to delete an item to change the delivery address the list goes on. The system as it stands is usless if the customer makes a mistake ordering or changes their mind rings us and requests a change. I am not fudging anything. As it stands I use the freewebstore website for online straight forward orders but when there are problems with an order nothing can be done to change the invoice….. Can you not see the problem!!!

        Hi John, The invoice will always show exactly what the customer has ordered. Nothing more, nothing less. If your customer wants to make wholesale changes to their order they should contact you to place a new order and you can void the incorrect one. This way the invoices will always be correct and reflect what your customer has ordered and comply with the tax man’s requirements. As I am sure you appreciate running your own business, The tax man is always right !

        The problem then is you end up with gaps in the invoice numbering which the tax man does not like either and confusion for the customer and us. I would like to see the ability to edit the invoices as prommissed 4 years ago.

    Probably a bit late to the party but I’d love the option to have a type box in the options category, so instead of choosing from a pre defined selection customers can type their own personalisation eg name for a personalised product.

    Is there any chance that abandoned cart data is still something that you’re willing to work on?

    Also there’s something else that has really been bugging me lately and that’s the lack of freedom with the layout of the invoice 😦
    Not only that, but i really would like it if there was a third column for a “returns address” because when i put the invoice on the outside of the parcel, id like to have the customers delivery address and my returns address JUST incase the parcel does go missing, its really helpful! I know you can edit the invoice on word and i really do appreciate that youve allowed us that options, its great, but its also a very time consuming and tedious process to change one at a time 😦

    Also, when your on “products” as an admin you can view them in different ways i.e. newly listed, or in terms of price/categories.. but id also love to be able to adjust the page so i could view items that are out of stock at the top.. does that make sense? This is very minor, but yeah 🙂

    Also, is there no way in which you could allow us to let customers to pay directly through their visa cards etc, i have seen the “other” option where you have to note their details or provide yours but id love it for it to be like all the other websites out there!

    It’s time you let us have another new feature…. how about the LOYALTY / REWARD SCHEME that I’ve been asking about for over a year now? It would be lovely to let returning customers have points based on the value of their purchase which they can use towards discounts or special gifts. How about it Freewbebstore? Who else would like to reward their loyal customers?

      Yes, a Loyalty/Reward
      Scheme with exactly those points. The one thing it should do is that only registered customers be eligible, not guest customers.

      i’ve also been asking for an Editable order system where changes can be made if the customer makes contact after ordering, and also the ability to do Refund Invoices.
